About The Event
Event Description:
Join us as we tour the Midway Event Center is scheduled to open prior to the 2026 State Fair. The new food hall is designed to accommodate these visitors, as well as the lunch and dinner clientele from the Raleigh area.
In addition to the fair, the venue will host over 300 events annually. It will feature eight full-time vendors operating under long-term leases, alongside four stalls designated for temporary pop-up vendors. Additionally, the facility will include a full-service bar, marking the introduction of consistent alcohol sales at the fairgrounds.
This development represents a significant enhancement for the fairgrounds, as the food hall will replace the cherished yet aging “restaurant row.” The existing sheet metal structure, which dates back to the 1960s, was primarily known for hosting food sales by churches and civic organizations during the fair. Following the conclusion of the 2023 fair, restaurant row was closed, paving the way for the new Midway Event Center. Fair organizers are optimistic that this modern upgrade will contribute to making the fairgrounds a more inviting destination throughout the year.
